How to write a
nomination that
gets read.

The form is long because the jury reads it closely. A few habits make the difference between an entry that is skimmed and one that is argued over.

Write for someone who has never heard of you

Jurors read across forty-odd categories. Assume no knowledge of your sector's shorthand. One plain sentence explaining what you sell and to whom, placed early, buys you the attention you need for everything that follows.

Lead with the change, not the history

The founding year matters less than what shifted in the last three. Open each answer with the outcome and follow with the story behind it. If a juror stops reading halfway, they should still have your strongest point.

Give the numbers a shape

Revenue, headcount, capacity, cities, retention — whichever you cite, give the starting point, the end point and the period. A figure without a baseline is not a figure, it is an adjective wearing a number.

Pick referees who will pick up the phone

Verification is real, and a referee who cannot be reached is worse than no referee at all. Choose two people who know the work in detail, tell them to expect a call, and use the number they actually answer.

Before you send it

  • Every required field answered — the form flags what is missing
  • The questionnaire stamped and signed by the director or owner
  • Supporting documents named clearly, not IMG_0423.jpg
  • One read-through out loud, which catches more than a silent one

Entries close on 30 September 2026. The desk answers category questions right up to the deadline, and it is worth asking early rather than guessing.
